THE TRUTH ABOUT SELF-DECEPTION. The difficulty with self-deception is that even if we know we are deluding ourselves it is incredibly hard to accept because the cause of much of our delusions got their start by believing in something that had been passed on to us by people we love and/or trusted–these people wear many hats. And it’s not that they all did this deliberately, but it shows how deep self-deception goes and how it can easily morph into delusion.
Once we’ve accepted something
as an absolute truth it creates a blockage that makes it extremely
difficult to overcome and by that I mean, it does not allow for balance
in your life. Instead of seeing that there is Strength in compromise,
you may feel a nagging incompatibility due to a lack of Temperance–an
imbalance resulting from expecting everyone to see things your way.
People who self-deceive, will undoubtedly at some point ask, “Why won’t this work? Why won’t anyone listen and why does this shit keep happening to me?” And the answer is because you refuse to understand that your extreme or stubborn way of thinking cannot exist without its polar opposite and that if you’re looking for real love or respect, that can only come when you consciously allow conditioned beliefs to air out and consider the possibility that there is more than one truth.
