The True Way To Accessing Your Natural Ability and Potential

Last night before I turned out my light, I contemplated the idea of potential and natural ability. What is it that drives us? What are the things that we gravitate to that are inspired by our own desires and not of the influences forced upon us? How do we truly flourish when we feel others should come before us? Or if we take credit for something we didn’t actually do or express a thought that didn’t come from our own mind?

How DO we access our true potential without giving in to pressures or taking an easy way out to obtain limited or imagined success? By this I mean, when we limit our potential by following a dream that is not our own or when we go along with ‘the plan’ because we don’t want to rock the boat–that is, when we function only as a contributor to someone else’s potential and success and not our own. It may feel good to be part of the ‘team’, but as individual creators it does not serve us.

With these thoughts in mind, I did a reading to gain more clarity and answers for people who may be struggling with this issue. Firstly, we need to understand ourselves and know precisely what it is we desire to accomplish. What actions need to be taken to reach our full potential?

The cards offered a remarkable response.

To access our natural ability and harness our true potential, we need to think like The Hanged Man.

The Hanged Man tells us that there is an inner peace, serenity and happiness in being misunderstood. He is content in knowing that he is furthering his own agenda and spiritual growth by following what his heart tells him.

The Hanged Man is not distressed by how others perceive him. Though he may be ridiculed, shunned, shamed and ostricized, he does not allow himself to be swayed or pressured out of his own beliefs. He is okay being the butt of a joke because he knows he is doing what is right for himself whether others understand him or not.

The Hanged Man’s peace comes from being true, sincere and authentic.

Once we can appreciate the serenity that comes with sometimes being misunderstood, wisdom will come from the experience that is obtained by cutting our cords of attachment to things that no longer serve us.

Temperance is about balancing what is in our hearts and our minds.  We can obtain equilibrium by giving to others, but we need to give to ourselves as well to maintain balance.

Most telling about this reading is the appearance of the three cards above. They are the only three cards in the entire deck that have someone turned fully around and walking away. These three are in step and actively leaving the scene.

If we are to allow our nature to blossom and tap into our full potential, we must not allow the the words of others to stop us. We can’t always expect others to help us in our endeavors and we can’t expect even loved ones to side with us.

DSC03791We need to walk away from people and situations that are not in alignment with our desires. We have to know that the extra work, dissenting voices and even times of loneliness are all contributing to what is best for us. It gives us strength, fortitude and eventually, the calm of The Hanged Man.

And in the end, we don’t even need to say “I told you so.” because people will know who was correct all along.

Are We Poisoning Ourselves With ‘Goodness’?

POLARIZED
I like to think that most people are genuinely caring individuals who strive for fairness and encourage love of their fellow man. Deep down, I think we all want that, but sometimes it drives us to imbalance.  We start to see injustice wherever we look and choose not to see when things are actually going well for us. Our good intentions of ‘righting a wrong’ by becoming angry or emotional simply creates more of the negative vibration we seek to eliminate.

Everything Vibrates. Vibrational energy works in a two-fold way. It is put out and attracts more of a similar type energy (good or bad), it builds on the expended energy and returns to the source with more than it started out with. So if you put positive out, you get more in return. This holds true with whatever type of energy expressed by either your thoughts or actions.

I did a reading yesterday that exemplified this idea.

DSC03636The Reading: When we become so blinded by doing what we think is ‘right’ that we go out of our way to hurt, silence or destroy the ability for others to express themselves, we are treading in a deeply delusional space.

We celebrate and feel a sense of victory when we are with like minded participants, but the victory will not be authentic until you walk with your perceived enemy. When that is done you will both have a better understanding and respect for one another that will transcend bitterness, anger and jealousy.  If we avoid confronting issues that put our belief systems in jeopardy, we will be like the Fool who had his chance at spiritual growth, but ignored the opportunity and fell to his doom.

Our short lived victories will ring hollow and in the end we will see that our emotions and denial of nature have left us with nowhere left to go. We’ve reached a dead end that can only be transformed when we go back, understand the lunacy of our behavior, take the hand of our enemy and walk together.
