I’m very happy to announce the release of my first book, Toxic Rainbows.
I have so many feelings and thoughts associated with what I’ve written that I struggle with even giving it an elevator pitch that does it justice. It’s philosophical, psychological, spiritual, autobiographical–it’s a manual for gaining clarity in a world that is designed to distract and distort perception.
As I wrote, I realized that I had been keeping mental notes my whole life on what I had been learning, observing and understanding about myself and human nature. The pain and confusion I saw around me compelled me to further understand why so many were in a delusional loop of cognitive dissonance and selective outrage. What had happened?
For years I had been slowly moving toward a life of spirit and nature and attempting to understand the meaning of faith. But when my life dramatically cracked open and I was faced with a life and death situation, everything I had questioned and wondered about was revealed to me and I was given all the answers I sought.
The awakening I experienced allowed me to see my past, future and the world around me with much more clarity and I finally understood the meaning and feelings of faith.
Toxic Rainbows is a book I had no intention of writing, but it came out of necessity. It wrote itself after a few years of self-reflection and contemplation of how as a society we are to function spiritually in a world where spiritual transformation plateaus with a hollow meme or a proficiency at yoga.
I am a Generation X writer with the perspective of having experienced life pre- and post-internet. The remarkable experience for some of us was watching life unfold as a veil of delusion was constructed around us. We have the capacity for second sight because we can see the realities of two worlds, the truth and a manufactured delusion.
The delusion, often referred to as The Matrix, suffocated, obscured and redefined words and reality as we knew them. An ever creeping and pervasive artificiality and disconnection was my inspiration in seeking answers to life’s most enduring questions which led to my studying works of an esoteric nature, psychology, philosophy and religion.
Toxic Rainbows is based on my experience of growing up outside of a system we are now mired in, entering into it and finally extricating myself from it by understanding how I became a part of the system and how we had become enslaved by it.
Toxic Rainbows is a book about awareness and self discovery that offers revelations and sometimes unpleasant truth that pertains to everyone. It is a manual for escape and a guide for obtainng the joy and freedoms that are missing from so many of our lives. It’s an alternate route to a much better Oz, a place where true enlightenment can be obtained without fear of falling victim to the falseness that surrounds us or the trappings of the faux New Age.
Follow my blog for excerpts and news on the book release. I will also be posting updates to Instagram.
Feeling connected to a Higher Power is not something easy to start talking about. I’ve never been a big fan of poetry, I’ve just never had much patience for it, but when you want to start describing the feelings associated with God, it will give you a much greater appreciation for the poetic arts, because how else can you describe it?
Yesterday I was excited to go to the baptism of the daughter of good friends and felt an immediate connection to the ceremony and being in the beautiful church where the ceremony took place.
The officiating priest announced that those wishing to renew their baptism could do so and I took all of his words to heart and accepted the blessing, knowing and feeling once again that I was a Child of God. It was a wonderful and moving experience. I kinda felt sorry for the three infants who were baptized because they didn’t really know what was going on and experiencing it as an adult was pretty amazing. 😊
I have also been through Communion and Confirmation, but it was this baptismal renewal that really confirmed my faith and gave me the feeling of acceptance and being touched by God. Insert poetry here!
Every day I am feeling more connected and less attached to the trappings of the mundane world. There is a vibrating current of energy that runs through my body that calms, comforts, and affirms as well as diminishes negativity and anger that can stir within me or come from more polarized individuals. It’s almost as if I don’t need the shields to protect myself from the anger and pain of others anymore, I’m just not so much affected by it the way I used to be.
I am truly blessed to have been reawakened and to understand my greater purpose. It’s my sincere wish, that more people start letting go of the trappings of what we call The Matrix. To be aware of their negative influences and to know that love does conquer all.
We all want to understand our purpose and for most of us that will require a process of change and self transformation. Positive change will shake the effects of our influences and will bring about a greater understanding of our habits and motivations.
Lasting change is a process that includes a strong desire, dedication, reflection and will.
Your greatest first challenge is in understanding who you are. I am not talking about the labels that are imposed upon you by society. I’m talking about the inner you that only you can know.
Surviving the New Babylon first means finding yourself among the masses, extricating yourself and discovering the individual buried beneath the labels, peer pressure and expectations of others.
Discovering your true inner self means letting go of what you think you know and believe in and to simply start over. That means spending time reflecting and in meditation. Giving time to youself and your thoughts alone.
You will begin to better understand your emotions and why you perceive things the way that you do. Connecting with your inner self, remembering things and making connections to your past will give you insight into why certain triggers can easily upset you or why some things put you in unusually good moods.
Reflection is a stage of work that will allow you to live with greater awareness. You will come to conclusions and make decisions more consciously, instead of allowing your inner conscious, or subconscious to make decisions for you. You will start to trust yourself more and believe in your intuition. Many wonderful things will start to happen, but you have to start laying the groundwork and that requires time and commitment.
I hope you will find some inspiration in this short post. There is a lot more to be said on the subject and I will continue posting on the process of self transformation regularly. This will also be covered in greater depth in my book, Post-Sanity: Surviving the New Babylon which will initially be released as an e-book. I am aiming for a Nov-Dec release, so stay tuned, follow along and believe in your transformation and when you do, you’ll start noticing big changes. I guarantee it.
