The Truth About Weakness

Seneca, the Roman Stoic philosopher, said that all savageness or cruelty is a sign of weakness. I love this concept and it has inspired me to reflect on its truth. Our weaknesses are not confirmed when we are physically dominated by someone else. True, debilitating weakness reveals itself in those who lack empathy and intelligence.  People who express empathy and intelligence threaten the feeble-minded. Intelligence inspires bullying and acts of cruelty in order for the actual weak to appear stronger than their minds would otherwise have you believe. These people oppress in order to get their way. If they are … Continue reading The Truth About Weakness

THE TRUTH ABOUT CHANGE

I love change and have always been the one to feel excitement for anyone moving away or leaving a job, thrilled for the potential that adventurous people create in their lives. Thus, it’s no surprise that I feel some frustration when I see stagnation, lack of movement and fear of change–especially when there is complaining associated with it. One of the greatest illusions concerning change is that it is too often associated with imbalance. We sometimes think that change will throw our whole life out of whack, but the opposite is closer to the truth. Positive change (and we know … Continue reading THE TRUTH ABOUT CHANGE

The Truth About Awareness

I think about the word awareness often and it occurred to me that not everyone understands it in the same way. For some it is an ability to discern truth buried amongst falsehoods and misinformation. For others it is something imposed on us by a system that always seems to be telling us about things it thinks we have no clue or opinion about. Unlike grassroots education that can utilize symbolic imagery, awareness is rarely brought about through government or corporate sponsorship and is not about colored ribbons we can pin to our chests or rubber bracelets that tell everyone … Continue reading The Truth About Awareness

The Truth About Hysteria

Hysteria is a manufactured mental disorder that preys on the minds of those easily influenced by suggestion. Disorder and confusion are not by-products of hysteria, but causes of it. Schemes that create insecurity are inoculated into susceptible minds by those who prey on the weak. The planted ideas germinate and the result is a paralysis of dread and fear that prompts those under its spell to respond to life like a sputtering chainsaw. Repetition plays a major role in establishing a foothold of dread and angst in a victim of hysteria. They are battered and attacked at every turn with … Continue reading The Truth About Hysteria

The Truth About Deception

I had a dream in which I discovered that someone I admired and was learning valuable information from was a heartless serial killer. The dream coincided with my reading a book about familiar spirits and the possibility of good or bad influences communicating with us in our dreams. I took the dream to mean that I was possibly being deceived by an entity that wanted me to have doubt about something I cared about, or perhaps my subconscious brought out doubt that was already there. Who can be sure when it comes to these things, but the timing of the … Continue reading The Truth About Deception

The Truth About Influences

Are our influences creating balance in our lives or are they suppressing our natural instincts? A parent’s job is to influence their children in a positive way so that they become stable people who can then positively contribute to society. We benefit from those who influence and encourage us and we become better people for it. Our influences today are generally not geared toward our personal growth, wisdom and knowledge.  In the modern world, influence is pressed upon us to form our opinions regarding things far removed from spirit or attainment of a higher sense of self. Social Media anoints … Continue reading The Truth About Influences

The Truth About Forgiveness

Forgiveness is not for wimps and it’s not about choosing between letting go or revenge. The greatest strength of will and character is needed to forgive. On one hand it entails addressing pain caused by trusted loved ones or confidants and on the other, the violations imposed on us by low vibration people whose sole purpose is to take from others and further their own selfish agendas.  Forgiveness is deeply tied to our emotional investments and physical disturbances that cause discomfort. Forgiveness does not mean having to identify with those who violate us or to allow bad behavior to keep … Continue reading The Truth About Forgiveness

The Truth About Gaslighting

Yesterday I met up with an old friend and was caught off guard when she casually mentioned the gaslighting behavior of someone from her past. I have frequently thought about how such psychotic behavior has become so common to the point that even kids know the definition of the term and that it’s even become a hallmark of the mainstream media. Unethical ‘journalists’ do it without a shred of compunction, ruining the lives of their perceived enemies and at the same time presenting false stories to their readers and viewers. How did sociopathic behavior become the new normal? And why … Continue reading The Truth About Gaslighting

The Truth About Misplaced Confidence

There’s nothing wrong with confidence, but what about when there is an element of kidding ourselves attached to it–bravado, hubris…what then? Two nights ago I had a dream in which I was making bread. I put all the ingredients into a bag and placed it in an adjoining room to proof. But before I shut the door on it, I looked at it and thought something wasn’t right and I then realized that I had forgotten to put flour into the mix! Was I already aware that I knew I didn’t know what I was doing so much so that … Continue reading The Truth About Misplaced Confidence
